BIFA Nominations 2018

The nominations for the 2018 British Independent Film Awards have been announced, with UA clients being recognised in several categories.

Beast is nominated for Best British Independent Film, starring Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn, Claire Rafferty, Olwen Fouere, Shannon Tarbet, Edited by Maya Maffioli and Hair and Make-up design by Nadia Stacey. Disobedience is also nominated, and stars Clara Francis, Alexis Zegerman, with Director of Photography Danny Cohen, Hair & Make-up design by Marese Langan & with Sandra Frieze as the dialect coach to Rachel McAdams.

Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite gains an epic 13 nominations, including Best Independent Film, with Olivia Colman, Luke Thallon, Timothy Innes, and with stunning hair and make-up design by Nadia Stacey. Olivia Colman has also been nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of Queen Anne in the film.

Star of Beast Jessie Buckley has also been nominated for both Best Actress and Most Promising Newcomer.

Up for Best International Film is The Rider, with Director of Photography Joshua James Richards.

Michelle Smith is up for the Best Casting Award, for her wonderful work on Apostasy.

Up for Best Make-Up and Hair Design is Nadia Stacey for her work on The Favourite, and Jeremy Woodhead for his work on the upcoming Stan and Ollie biopic.

Nominated in the Best Production Design is Suzie Davies for her work on Mike Leigh's Peterloo, and Beck Rainford for Ray & Liz.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 2 at Old Billingsgate in London. Congratulations to all nominees.
