Adam Foulds and Simon Mawer's Booker-shortlisted novels THE QUICKENING MAZE and THE GLASS ROOM are both on the shortlist for the inaugural Walter Scott Prize, worth £25,000.

Tom Fort was education at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford. On leaving Oxford he went to work as a reporter at the Slough Observer and the Slough Evening Mail before joining the BBC in 1978 where he worked in the BBC Radio newsroom in London for 22 years.
Lorn was the winner of the Best Actor in Film Scottish BAFTA 2019 for his performance as 'Spanner' in BEATS (dir. Brian Welsh)
He was also nominated for Best Actor in the 2019 Off West End Awards for his performance in MOUTHPIECE (dir. Orla O'Laughlin)
