Jancis Robinson is a wine writer and broadcaster of worldwide reputation. She published her first book, THE WINE BOOK, in 1978, and was the first British journalist to pass the notoriously difficult Master of Wine exams. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Open University in 1997.

Kate Saunders began her career as a professional actor but moved into journalism following the publication of her first novel in 1986. She has written two literary novels, THE PRODIGAL FATHER and STORM IN THE CITADEL, and has edited an anthology (REVENGE) for Virago.
