Faber to Publish Idolatry: An Uncanny History of Dolls, the Non-Fiction Debut by Otamere Guobadia
We’re thrilled to share that Faber will publish Idolatry: An Uncanny History of Dolls, the debut non-fiction work from Otamere Guobadia, in Spring 2027.
A rich socio-cultural exploration of dolls throughout history, Idolatry blends original research with voices from across the worlds of art, magic, psychology, and design, including interviews with illustrator Mel Odom, poppet practitioner Lucya Starza, and Barbie® exhibition curator Danielle Thom.
Acquired by Publishing Director Hannah Knowles from Zoe Ross at United Agents, this is set to be a stylish and thought-provoking journey into the strange and symbolic power of dolls across time and cultures.
