Arnold Oceng to star in THE GOOD LIE with Reese Witherspoon

After a worldwide search, Uganda-born British actor Arnold Oceng has landed the lead role of 'Mamere' in The Good Lie: a feature film based on the real life story of four Sudanese 'Lost Boys' who were orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War.

Thousands of young boys walked for thousands of miles across Africa - ending up in a refugee camp in Kenya five years later. Arnold Oceng plays one of four such refugees who win a lottery for relocation to the United States. Witherspoon plays a brash, American woman assigned to help him.

Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar) is directing from a screenplay by Margaret Nagle (Warm Springs, Boardwalk Empire). Corey Stoll and Sarah Baker have also joined the cast.

Arnold has built a successful career in the UK, appearing in (among other productions) acclaimed Channel 4 drama Top Boy, feature films Adulthood, The Knot and recent hit My Brother The Devil. The Good Lie is Arnold's first major international role and represents a very exciting opportunity for the young actor.

The Good Lie is currently filming in Atlanta and South Africa.
