Lloyd is an award winning writer and director for film and television. His passion for story telling has always been one that is founded within truth and experience, heavily influenced by his northern roots upbringing and background within the LGBTQI+ and neuro diverse community. Growing up with Dyslexia, Lloyd also has a motor co-ordination learning condition which he has now embraced and incorporated into his approach to story-telling.

Lloyd and his writing partner Neil Ely's debut feature film DEPARTURES, has been nominated for Best Comedy at the National Film Awards 2025 and was selected as a festival favourite at BFI Flare 2025.

After training at UCLA Film School he began his career in film, going on to receiving world wide screenings and critical acclaim.

His first major success came after directing and writing his Bafta and Oscar qualifying short film, CLOSETS. The film was distributed as part of a cinematic collection by Peccadillo Pictures and screened in cinemas across the UK. The film went on to win the prestigious, BEST OF BRITISH IRIS PRIZE, gaining him post-production services at Pinewood Studios. CLOSETS was later developed into a stage musical performed at Hope Mill Theatre to sell out audiences and rave reviews. Lloyd is now working alongside Grammy Award Winner Eliot Kennedy, and co-writer Neil Ely, to develop a new musical.

In 2020, Lloyd co-wrote and directed coming of age short film S.A.M, (available on ALL 4) which explores acceptance and how people living with a learning disability can feel about love and sexuality. The film was supported by MENCAP and stars CBEEBIES presenter and MENCAP ambassador George Webster, HOLLYOAKS actor David Tag and ACKLEY BRIDGE’S Sam Retford.

Lloyd, and the team behind S.A.M, are currently in development for a feature length version.
