Tessa Hadley & Abbie Spallen win Windham Campbell Prize!

The mission of the Windham Campbell Prize is to call attention to literary achievement and provide writers with financial support so that they may focus on their work independently.

The award recognizes writers in the English language from anywhere in the world and is judged anonymously meaning our wonderful prize winners were unaware they were being considered for the prize until the awards were announced at a ceremony at Yale University!

Huge congratulations to Tessa Hadley, winner in the Fiction category:

"Tessa Hadley brilliantly illuminates ordinary lives with extraordinary prose that is superbly controlled, psychologically acute, and subtly powerful."

In the Drama category, we're thrilled to announce Abbie Spallen as a well-deserved winner:

“Abbie Spallen’s plays confront audiences with all the awkward questions, reminding us with thrilling proof that theatre can still be urgently necessary.”

Congratulations to both of our excellent winners!
