THE RIDER released in UK cinemas

After stunning critics at Cannes Directors' Forgnight in 2017, where it won the Art Cinema Award, and playing in the US earlier this year, where it received rapturous reviews upon release - A.O. Scott described it in the New York Times as "exceptional among recent American regional-realist films" - THE RIDER, the second film by writer-director Chloé Zhao with cinematography by Joshua James Richards, nominated for an Indie Spirit Award, is out on limited release in UK cinemas from today. Employing non-professoinal actors, the film follows bronco rider Brady as he recovers from a near-fatal injury and is a paean to a dying way of life in the American West.
