Century snaps up Ashley James' 'energetic' new book
Century has snapped up a new book by broadcaster and campaigner Ashley James.
Editorial director Zennor Compton acquired world rights to Bimbo. The book will be published on 12th February 2026.
"The English language has a seemingly infinite number of judgemental and hypocritical words to describe women and their life choices," the synopsis says. "We can’t win, no matter what we do.
"Whether it’s on the sofa of ITV’s This Morning or online, Ashley James is a fierce advocate for women. In Bimbo, she unpacks the labels that box women in, and the systems that keep them there… Told through raw personal stories, humour and with a fierce feminist lens, this is a battle cry for every woman who’s ever felt too much – or not enough."
James said: "It’s the book I wish I’d had when I was a teenager trying to make sense of my body, when I was single and swimming against the tide in a world built for couples, and when I became a mother navigating regret, rage and love all at once.
"I hope this book reminds every woman that she’s not alone – that she doesn’t need to change herself to belong, shouldn’t let anyone box her in, nor should she box others in either."
Compton added: "Ashley is a true powerhouse. Candid, energetic and written with her trademark boldness, Bimbo [...] is a rousing call to arms that will inspire women to step outside of the boxes they’re put in."
