Kayla is a Co-Founder of Snapper Theatre. She trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. In 2019 she took part in Directors Lab North, Toronto, an invite-only international exchange network for directors. In 2021, she co-founded the Sovereign Writers Group, an all-female writing collective.

In 2019 Kayla was the Associate Producer for Maiden Speech Festival.

In 2022 Kayla was selected to take part in the Royal Court's NO BORDERS Artists Project.

She was Longlisted for Pentabus Writer in Residence and Traverse Theatre Breakthrough Writers in Residence in 2022.

Her play WATCHDOG was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Playwriting, Shortlisted for RSC’s 37 Plays Project, Longlisted for Theatre503 International Playwriting Award, was a Top Ten Finalist for Titchfield Festival Theatre New Playwrights Competition and received an Honourable Mention from the Jewish Playwriting Contest. 

Kayla has been a tutor and director at several drama schools including Mountview and Identity School of Acting. She writes regular articles for Medium and has just published her first poetry collection, TIKVA
