Rawah Badrawi is a writer and mentor, often pursuing projects that reflect her interest in Egyptian culture and heritage.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from Georgetown University. Her career in finance from 1996 to 2010 spanned New York, Bogotá, London and Cairo. In 2012, she wrote the book Siwa, a photographic memoir about the remote Saharan Oasis in Egypt’s Western Desert, published by Haven Books of Hong Kong. All proceeds of the book are donated to Tawasol, an initiative that empowers women in distressed communities in Cairo. Since 2011, Rawah has been a Mentor at venture capital firm Flat6 Labs, and a Brand Ambassador for Egyptian Jewellery House Azza Fahmy. She lives with her husband, three children and German Sheperd between London and Cairo. 
 
 
Suzanne Zeidy is a food writer with a background in the restaurant industry. She graduated with a BA from the American University of Cairo and an MBA from Stern School of Business in New York University. Before returning to her native Egypt, she completed a culinary school program in New York City. In Egypt Suzanne joined her family in creating local food manufacturing companies that specialise in popular food staples.  Suzanne went on to create and operate several restaurant concepts in Egypt: La Bodega, Cilantro and Cairo Kitchen. She wrote a cookbook to document Egyptian recipes and street food for Cairo Kitchen, which was published by Hardie Grant and Knesebeck (Germany) in 2014. Suzanne also contributed an essay about her restaurant experience to Making Levantine Cuisine: Modern Foodways of the Eastern Mediterranean (University of Texas Press, 2021).  She lives with her family between Cairo and Berlin.
