With a background in classical acting (Drama Centre London and Vakhtangov Theatre, Moscow), Ali brings a deep understanding of performance and psychological nuance to every project. Ali's credits span high-profile continuing drama, landmark arts programming, and premium international docu-drama. Her work includes directing for ITV’s Emmerdale, helming drama sequences for the BBC’s Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius - a series that garnered critical acclaim, including multiple 5-star reviews - among them, from Lucy Mangan in The Guardian “even the author herself would be a fan of this spot on tribute” - and shaping powerful narratives in true crime series such as Locked up Abroad, Web of Death, and Impact of Murder..
