Annie is a writer and actor from Northumberland (sort of Geordie, sort of not) who now lives in London. Named by The Guardian as an “emerging talent”, her first play BAIRNS premiered at the Pleasance Courtyard during Edinburgh Fringe 2025. The Scotsman chose Annie as one of the Rising Stars of Edinburgh Fringe and called the play “bold, honest and deeply moving,” whilst The Stage said it was “frenetically funny… a touching and amusing portrait of surrogacy and sisterly love”
Annie studied English Literature at Durham University and trained as an actor at Drama Centre London. She has performed at theatre venues such as The Park (Anything with a Pulse), The Oxford Playhouse (Shallow Resting Place) and the VAULTS Festival (Good Day), as well as at Pleasance with BAIRNS.
Annie is now furiously writing her next scripts for both theatre and TV, and hopes to tour BAIRNS in 2026. She is interested in creating work that is funny, but packs a punch – she likes making audiences laugh and then cry and she loves writing about the North East, as it is the best place on Earth.
