Presenting
Anthony Delaney is a historian, broadcaster, actor and presenter known for bringing compelling historical narratives to life across screen and audio. Originally from Kilkenny, Ireland, he trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and holds a PhD in 18th-century social and cultural history from the University of Exeter, where he is an Honorary Fellow.
Anthony co-hosts the award-winning podcast After Dark: Myths, Misdeeds & the Paranormal for History Hit, where he explores the darker corners of history with wit and scholarly insight.
His on-screen presenting includes co-hosting, The Edinburgh Murders: Burke and Hare (2024), a gripping documentary for History Hit that investigates Scotland’s most notorious serial killers.
In 2025, Anthony is set to present The Trial of Oscar Wilde and Death and the Brontës, further expanding his portfolio of historical storytelling.
His work blends academic rigour with accessible, engaging presentation, earning him accolades such as “Rookie of the Year” at the CrimeCon True Crime Awards and a nomination for “Best New Presenter” at the UK ARIA Awards.
Anthony’s first book, Queer Georgians: A Hidden History, was published in 2025 by Doubleday UK and Grove Atlantic US.
