Natasia Demetriou plays the lead female role of Nadja (a Gothic vampire queen making her way in modern America) in the hit FX series of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS. Episodes of the first series were directed by Taika Waititi who adapted his cult hit movie for the small screen, with Jermaine Clement writing. The show and Natasia have received widespread critical acclaim and wildly impressive ratings. It airs on the BBC in the UK. The second series received multiple Emmy nominations and a third series has been commissioned. Natasia recently received a Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Series nomination at the Critics Choice Super Awards for her performance.
"Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) especially shines in these, as her wry confessions drip with derision and sexuality." Den of Geek
"The series may be what finally turns America's eyes toward some of England's most unrecognized talent, and turn Demetriou from a rising UK comedy star into an established presence on both sides of the Atlantic." Bustle
“Demetriou is a standout in her own right, the droll and lusty voice of reason in the bunch,” Collider
“ The original film described the coven of sanguivores as “one bit homoerotic dick-biting club”, and Demetriou’s weapons-grade eye-rolling carries on that auto-critique” Guardian
“All the characters grow on you, which is also a good sign, but the first to stand out is Demetriou's Nadja. Her flair for annoyance with rolled eyes and teeth-baring disdain is a thing of comic beauty.” Hollywood Reporter
Over 2018 and 2019, Natasia starred in the lead regular role of Sophie in two series of the hit comedy series, STATH LETS FLATS, for Channel 4 (Roughcut), written by and starring Jamie Demetriou. The series has received rave reviews and the first series was nominated for two BAFTAs. The second series then went on to win three BAFTAs.
Over the summer of 2018, Tash could be seen alongside Joe Thomas, Jermaine Clement and Claudia O’Doherty in the comedy feature, THE FESTIVAL, for Film4 and Fudge Park.
Earlier in 2017, Tash starred opposite Rob Beckett in the BBC One/Zeppotron Comedy Playhouse pilot, STATIC and she also has a guest role in Sky One’s series SICK NOTE (King Bert) alongside Rupert Grint and Nick Frost which is currently airing. Other acting credits include the WASTEMAN pilot for Left Bank Pictures with Tom Davis and MORGANA ROBINSON’S THE AGENCY for BBC 2 as well as OH GOD and COACHES for Sky Arts.
Outside of acting, Tash is an incredible writer and character comedian. In early 2019, Natasia and comedy partner, Ellie White, filmed their sketch pilot for the BBC, which they made with CPL and Harry Hill. The pilot was released in June 2019 to crtitical acclaim. Following the pilot, the BBC commissioned a six part series of the show that will film in 2020.
“This fearless new sketch show from comedians Ellie White and Natasia Demetriou is French and Saunders for the Fleabag generation.” The Sun
“Inventive, silly sketch show, featuring mummy bloggers, eastern European nail technicians and one sketch so sinister it puts David Lynch to shame.” The Guardian
“Their creations are fuelled by the fluent silliness of natural comic performers.” Radio Times
Tash and her comedy partner Ellie took their live comedy show - "Natasia Demetriou and Ellie White are gettin' Big" - to the Soho Theatre for a sell-out run in July 2018. Earlier in 2018, Tash and Ellie featured in character as "Mum's the Word" in Dictionary Corner on C4's CATS DOES COUNTDOWN.

She also featured on THE CHRIS RAMSEY SHOW on Comedy Central UK; HARRY HILL’S TEA TIME for Sky One and she was a regular writer and performer on ITV2’s current affairs focused show, @ELEVENISH.
Natasia also co-wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed BBC3 Comedy Feed PEOPLE TIME alongside Jamie Demetriou, Ellie White, Liam Williams and Claudia O’Doherty:
“ It’s rare to see something at the pilot stage that is so fully-formed and so confident. Also – no small matter, this, for a comedy – it is hilarious.” The New Statesman
"The most startlingly good sketch group to have come out of this island since Absolutely." The Guardian
Natasia's 2014 debut solo Edinburgh show, YOU'LL NEVER HAVE ALL OF ME, won the Skinny Debutant Award.
