Matthew is currently adapting a series of detective novels for Todd Berger / Buccaneer Media and developing original shows for Big Light Productions / Tomorrow Studios in the UK / USA and Amaze Film and TV in Canada.

He had new episodes of AGATHA RAISIN (1 x 90 season 4) and also QUEENS OF MYSTERY (2 x 45 season 2) broadcast in 2022.

In 2021 he worked with Federation Entertainment in France on a period adventure series. 

His episode of the award winning crime drama MARCELLA went out on Netflix and ITV in 2020.

In 2018 he wrote two episodes for the first season of QUEENS OF MYSTERY and was in the writers’ room on the Starz / Lionsgate show THE ROOK for producer Stephen Garrett.

In 2017 Matthew adapted the bestselling novel FIRST FROST into a 3 x 90 mini-series that is currently in active development. 

Matthew’s original true crime drama THE CHAMELEON won best feature film at both the 2016 British Independent Film Festival and the 2016 Sydney Indie Festival, where it also received a best screenplay nomination.  

At that time he also sold his original spec TV pilot EVE to Dimension Films / TWC in the US and worked with them to develop a detailed show bible and lookbook.

Since 2005 Matthew has written forty hours of produced prime time drama for the BBC, ITV, Netflix, ZDF, Channel 5, Discovery and Acorn TV including three episodes of NEW TRICKS (BBC), three episodes of THE LAST DETECTIVE (ITV) and four episodes of QUEENS OF MYSTERY (Acorn TV / Channel 5).
