Katherine is a translator of plays written in French. Translations include work by diverse writers from France, Québec and Belgium - contemporary plays by Togolese-French and Libyan-French writers, as well as contemporary classic French plays from the 1930s and 1970s. Katherine also does literal translations for select producers (most recently for Sonia Friedman Productions). Katherine is currently working on a translation of a Moliere short (working title THE COMMISSION) which was first begun at Cove Park's Translation Residency and recently received development support grant from the Tom McGrath Trust.
She was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her work with Francophone writers on UK stages.
Katherine was the International Literary Associate and then Literary Manager for the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh from 1999-2012. Managing/dramaturging commissions for Artistic Director Philip Howard and then for Artistic Director Dominic Hill, and working with associates John Tiffany, Roxana Silbert & Lorne Campbell.
Prior to that, she was Literary Manager of the Gate Theatre in London, and assistant to John Barton, Royal Shakespeare Company.
