Kate Young is an award-winning food writer and cook. While working as a teacher and then young people's theatre producer, she began writing about food and developing recipes from literature. It was a passion that gradually took over her life; her blog The Little Library Café was named Blog of the Year in 2017 by the Guild of Food Writers. Her first book, The Little Library Cookbook, was shortlisted for the Fortnum & Mason's debut food book award and won a World Gourmand food writing award. Her second book, The Little Library Year, will be released in October 2019. Originally from Australia, Kate now lives in the English countryside, and writes about food and books for various publications in the UK.

Praise for THE LITTLE LIBRARY COOKBOOK (October 2017, Head of Zeus):

"A work of rare joy, and one as wholly irresistible as the food it so delightfully describes ... It is a glorious work that nourishes the mind and spirit as much as the body, and I could not love it more." Sarah Perry, author of The Essex Serpent

"What a joy ... If there is comfort food, there is also comfort reading, and The Little Library Cookbook is it." Bee Wilson

"Wonderful! [Kate] takes us on a fabulous food journey. It makes me want to both cook and read more at once." Tessa Kiros
