Jason Wingard is a director from mixed race heritage based in Manchester. He started his directing career in film, his dramatic feature ‘In Another Life’ won Best UK Feature at Raindance Film Festival 2017, it also won the prestigious Discovery Award at the British Independent Film Awards in the same year. Jason’s second feature, northern off-beat comedy ‘Eaten By Lions’ starring Johnny Vegas, Jack Carroll and Asim Chaudhry aired in UK cinemas nationwide, The Guardian called it a ‘comedy treat’ ★★★★ . Jason’s short film about homelessness ‘Pavement’ was accepted as one of twenty films from visionary filmmakers, giving a bright flash of insight into how they see the UK now for the ‘Uncertain Kingdom’ anthology.

Over the last 5 years Jason has successfully transitioned to TV and regularly directs blocks of ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Emmerdale’ for ITV.

Jason co-wrote period romance feature film Ambleside starring Ellie Bamber & Rhona Mitra, which recently won several awards at Boston Film Festival including Best Film and Best Screenplay.
