Emerald Fennell is an actress, screenwriter, director and novelist.

She was Head Writer on Season Two of KILLING EVE, and has just been nominated for the 2019 Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series. Her romantic comedy KINGS CROSS was voted on to last year's inaugural TV Brit List 2018.

Filming just wrapped in Los Angeles on her debut feature, PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, written and directed by Emerald, and starring Carey Mulligan, Alfred Molina and Bo Burnham. The script was on this year's Blacklist, and it is being produced by Margot Robbie's production company Lucky Chap, alongside FilmNation, with Focus Features distributing.

Her debut short as a writer/director, CAREFUL HOW YOU GO – a darkly comic psychological horror – premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival (2018) and starred Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Linda Bassett.

She is playing Camilla Parker Bowles in seasons 3 and 4 of Netflix's THE CROWN, and has previously starred in CALL THE MIDWIFE, THE DANISH GIRL and ANNA KARENINA among many others.

She has written three novels. Her first, SHIVERTON HALL, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize in 2014 and was quickly followed by a sequel, THE CREEPER.

Her latest novel MONSTERS, was nominated for the Carnegie Medal (2017), and was published to great critical acclaim. The New Statesman review called it "A tremendous, destabilising work of fiction, infusing the mundane with eerie and unsettling darkness. It is written, moreover, in a remarkable tone of voice: Roald Dahl meets Muriel Spark. Astonishing”. Other reviews: "Emerald Fennell combines sharp psychological insight with mordant humour to fashion a dark, contemporary fairy tale." -The Daily Mail. "A modern classic." - The Guardian. "Gripping and astonishingly, gleefully dark." - The Spectator
