Anna Neima read History at the University of Cambridge, where she also completed a doctorate on the utopian community of Dartington Hall – part of an international wave of social experiments in how to live that were sparked off by the horrors of the First World War. Her writing has appeared in History Today and Review 31, and her first book, The Utopians, will be published by Picador. She lives in London.
