Biography
Rob Carter is a British actor, writer and comedian best known for his character, Christopher Bliss.
Hailing from the prestigious Cambridge Footlights, Rob quickly found success, going onto become a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2013. The delusional, naïve and endearing Shropshire-born ‘novelist’ Bliss character first appeared in Carter’s 2016 Edinburgh Show Rob Carter is Christopher Bliss, where it was heralded as one of the ‘hidden treasures’ (Fest) of the Fringe. He has gone on to have four more critically acclaimed Edinburgh runs with Christopher Bliss, and most recently he has written the character his own online series Bangmouth Village (BabyCow, Blink).
Beyond Edinburgh, the character has performed at Roundhouse Comedy Festival, Latitude Festival, Vault Festival and the Soho Theatre amongst others and made guest appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Question Team. Bliss’s online shorts have also garnered millions of views online.
As an actor, Carter has starred in Peep Show (Channel 4), Fresh Meat (Channel 4), Malory Towers (CBBC) and Ladhood (BBC).
He also wrote and directed the short film The Raisin, which won Best Foreign Short Film at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival.
