Jonathan is an award-winning writer across TV, Film, Audio and Live comedy. He has created two solo live storytelling shows: I Just Want Someone To Know I Was Here (2019) and One Way Mirror (2023). He co-created and wrote the award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy series Time of the Week with Lorna Rose Treen; the first series was winner of Best Radio Sketch Show at the British Comedy Guide Awards 2024 and series two was nominated for Best Audio Comedy at the Chortle Awards 2025.
He has original television projects in development with Brock Media, Rabbit Track Pictures, DLT Entertainment and Greenacre Films, and is also developing an original feature film with the Guard brothers. Alongside this, he is bringing his debut character comedy hour, Exquisite Corpse, to the Edinburgh Festival this year.
As a director, Jonathan works across comedy and live theatre with both ensembles and solo performers. In 2025, he directed four comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, including Lorna Rose Treen’s 24 Hour Diner People (Pleasance Courtyard), Joe Kent Walters’ Frankie Monroe: DEAD!! (Monkey Barrel), Lucy Pearman’s Lunartic (Monkey Barrel), and Alice Cockayne’s Licensed, Professional, Trained, Qualified (Pleasance Courtyard). His work as a director is focused on sharp character work, narrative clarity and strong comic perspective.

Biography
Jonathan Oldfield trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and works across TV, Film, Theatre, Radio and Comedy. He plays Joydali in Series 2 of Star Wars: Andor on Disney +, can be seen in The Power on Amazon Prime, and has recently finished filming the satirical British feature film Blueberry Inn alongside Jack Davenport and Sophia di Martino.
His theatre credits include Nick Mohammed’s A Christmas Carol-ish (Soho Place), Romeo & Juliet (AFTLS USA Tour), The Mosinee Project (New Diorama Theatre), Nicholas Nickleby (Bristol Old Vic), Twelfth Night (Kew Gardens) and the Scotsman Fringe First winner Kanpur: 1857 which is going on a UK tour in 2026.
He was a BBC New Comedy Award Finalist, Musical Comedy Award Finalist and second place in the Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off competition.
His voice can be heard on two series of the award-winning BBC Radio 4 comedy Time of the Week, which he co-wrote with Lorna Rose Treen. Other audio credits include The Beef and Dairy Network Podcast (Maximum Fun), Soundheap with John-Luke Roberts (Lead Mojo), Hanna (Amazon) and White Lines (Netflix). He’s a trilingual actor working in English, Spanish and Italian.
