Ed is a writer and freelance development producer. His recent commissions include the Creative Europe MEDIA funded adaptation of the fantasy novel ISLAND BLUE by New York Times bestselling author Magda Szabó and her adult novel IZA’S BALLAD. He is currently developing his own original TV series idea.
His feature drama script SCATTER has been commended in competitions including the Bluecat Screenplay Competition and Screenwriting Goldmine. He is also a 4Talent and BAFTA Guru Film Pro alumni and was selected for an IdeasTap BBC Writersroom Screenwriting Masterclass.
His background in film and television includes an internship at Number 9 Films, freelance script consultant work and development executive roles at Rocliffe and Amber Entertainment.
He studied screenwriting at the University of Southern California, has an MA with distinction in Filmmaking from the Northern Film School and a degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds. While studying he directed a theatrical adaptation of Thomas Vinterberg’s FESTEN and wrote and directed his own short film A PROBLEM SHARED which screened internationally at festivals.
