Douglas is the newly appointed artistic director of The Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch.  He also is a freelance theatre director, runs the national touring company Transport, is a longstanding associate of Complicite and a selector for the National Student Drama Festival 2016.

Douglas read Drama & Theatre Arts at The University of Birmingham. He won a Regional Theatre Director Scheme Bursary to train at Salisbury Playhouse, was selected for the Royal National Theatre Studio Young Director's Programme and won an Esmeé Fairbairn Regional Theatre Initiative Award. His script for his production ELEGY recently won a Royal National Theatre Foundation Playwright's Award. His devised production 1001 NIGHTS for the Unicorn Theatre/Transport was nominated for the Off West End Award for Best Production for Young People.

As an associate director: A Disappearing Number, Endgame and Measure for Measure (Complicite); Julius Caesar (dir. Deborah Warner - Barbican) and Fidelio (dir. Deborah Warner - Glyndebourne).

He also directs for LAMDA, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Royal Central School of Music & Drama.
