Born in Karlovac, in Croatia, Zrinka started to act on stage when she was 13 playing Cinderella.
After finishing The Language High School and the music shool, playing piano, she graduated acting in Zagreb in Croatia at Academy of Drama Arts.
In 2010 she became the first Croatian actress to receive the Shooting Star Award at Berlin Film Festival for her role as Luna in On The Path. She was also nominated for Best Actress at Berlin Film Festival and for the Europian Academy Award for Best Actress in 2011.
In 2014 she became the first Croatian actress to win an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a musical playing the lead role of Girl in the musical “Once”.
In 2016 she received a Medal of Honour from the President of Croatia.
She currently lives in UK.
