Tom Binns is a talented writer and actor.
He’s the creator, star and co-writer of BBC One’s Comedy Series HOSPITAL PEOPLE which aired on Friday evenings in June last year. The series included guest starred Sally Phillips, Russell Brand and Sian Gibson.
As an actor Tom has appeared in BBC’s KNOWING ME KNOWING YULE WITH ALAN PARTRIDGE and Channel 4 hit shows IT CROWD and DRIFTERS. He also starred in feature film EATEN BY LIONS opposite Jack Carroll, due for release later this year.
Tom is also an award-winning and critically acclaimed character comedian, working both the international comedy festivals and the UK stand-up comedy circuit. His ventriloquist act, alter egos Hospital radio DJ ‘Ivan Brackenbury’ and psychic ‘Ian D Montfort’, have won him over 30 five star reviews and many awards both at home and abroad. He has been nominated twice for the Edinburgh Comedy Award, Trident Comedy Award and Perth International Fringe Comedy Award. He was voted a ‘Fosters Comedy God’, has won Best International Act at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Nottingham International Comedy Festival and 3 Sony Gold Awards. Last year his character Ivan Brackenbury also appeared in Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s popular 8 OUT OF TEN CATS DOES COUNTDOWN.
