Thekla Reuten is an undeniable front-runner in the new century’s wave of European actresses lauded on the international stage and screen.
She has starred in two Best Picture Oscar nominees in the Foreign Language Feature category – in the Belgian comedy-drama EVERYBODY’S FAMOUS! and the 2002 Dutch offering TWIN SISTERS.
She also starred in I’M NOT A ROBOT, which won the Academy Award for Best Short Film at the 2025 Oscars.
She has played key roles in various lauded English language feature films – IN BRUGES opposite Colin Farrell, THE AMERICAN opposite George Clooney AND RED SPARROW opposite Jennifer Lawrence.
Last year she was awarded Best Actress at The Nederlands Film Festival, The International Fantasporto Awards and the Luleå International Film Festival, for her lead role in critically acclaimed intimate drama NARCOSIS.
On TV, Thekla played Jillian Salvius in the acclaimed Netflix action-fantasy series WARRIOR NUN and starred in Amazon Prime Video’s CITADEL: DIANA.
Although she is well known for many television and film roles, she started out performing on stage, starring opposite Gael Garcia Bernal in BLOODWEDDING directed by Rufus Norris at the Almeida Theatre amongst other productions.
