Vanessa was born and raised in Kent. After training at Laine Theatre Arts, she went on to be a Musical Theatre actor in West End shows. Vanessa now lives in East Sussex with her husband (also a performer), with whom she runs a theatre school, and her two children (also threatening to be performers). SING is her first YA novel, published by Macmillan in spring 2019.
