Robert Llewellyn, host of the Channel 4 series Scrapheap Challenge and star of the cult TV series Red Dwarf, has also worked as a screen-writer, stand-up comic, on-line video guru and was once a maker of bespoke tassel loafers. He has written biographies, screenplays and four novels. Robert started making a home grown internet video series called Carpool in January 2009. The shows are available on iTunes, Robert¹s own site,llewtube.com, andYouTube.
So far they have been downloaded nearly 5 million times, the show consistently appearing in the iTunes top 10 podcasts.
In June 2010 it was announced that the show had been commissioned by UKTV channelDavewas broadcast in October 2010. The series is sponsored by Toyota GB. Carpool returned to its online roots and a new series, again sponsored by Toyota GB was launched in autumn 2011. In 2010 Robert started releasing an online series called Fully Charged which looks at the emerging electric car and renewable energy sector. This has led him to write for numerous websites, newspapers and magazines on related topics.
