Rob Carter is a British standup, writer and actor best known for his character, Christopher Bliss.
Hailing from the prestigious Cambridge Footlights, Rob quickly found success, going onto become a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2013. The delusional, naïve and endearing Shropshire-born ‘novelist’ Bliss character first appeared in Carter’s 2016 Edinburgh ShowRob Carter is Christopher Bliss,where it was heralded as one of the ‘hidden treasures’ (Fest) of the Fringe. He has gone on to have four more critically acclaimed Edinburgh runs with Christopher Bliss.
Beyond Edinburgh, the character has headlined shows at Roundhouse Comedy Festival, Latitude Festival, Vault Festival and the Soho Theatre amongst others and made guest appearances on8 Out of 10 Cats Does CountdownandQuestion Team.Bliss’s online shorts have also garnered thousands of views online.
As an actor, Carter has starred inMalory Towers(CBBC),Ladhood(BBC),Fresh Meat(Channel 4) andPeep Show(Channel 4).
He also wrote and directed the short filmThe Raisin,which won Best Foreign Short Film at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival.
