Somalia is a British Jamaican and Nigerian writer and theatre maker, born and raised in South-East London. She trained at East 15 Acting School.
She is Founder and Artistic Director of No Ball Games Allowed, a company creating work with young people at its core.
Her debut play CROWNING GLORY was shortlisted for the 2014 Alfred Fagon Award. Her play FALL OF THE KINGDOM, RISE OF THE FOOTSOLDIER awarded her a Susan Smith Blackburn Finalist Prize, and Alfred Fagon Longlist.
Her work has been produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company, Clean Break, and Stratford East.
She is currently under commission to The RSC, Bush Theatre, The Unicorn and Paines Plough.
