Sinéad Collopy

Sinéad was commissioned by the BBC Writer Room in 2020 for her short film, SALVATION CALLING for which she received a nomination for a UK Broadcast Digital Award.

She wrote on Season Three of the award-winning thriller series SMOTHER (Treasure Entertainment/BBC Studios) as well as Season Two of HIDDEN ASSETS ( Saffron-Moon Productions).

Sinéad’s TV drama EVERY FIVE MILES (Vico Films) was commissioned by RTÉ as part of the Storyland Sessions, the pilot episode airing in November 2022. EVERY FIVE MILES was nominated for an Irish Royal Television Society Award and won a Silver Screen award for Best Pilot at the Cannes Lions International Festival in 2023.

EVERY FIVE MILES received further development funding from Screen Ireland to develop the project into a six-part series.

In 2023, Sinéad was selected as the only Irish writer to pitch at the Writers Campus at Series Mania in Lille with her project THE CLADDAGH.   

Her Australian/Irish soft-romance TV series REILLY RIDGE ( co-creator Eloise Healey)  is currently in development with Werner Films ( The Newsreader, Surviving Summer) the development being  supported by Australian streamer Stan Originals ( The Tourist, Ten Pound Poms). 

Sinéad is developing a crime thriller series THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, with MOPAR Studios/Port Pictures as well as projects DOG STAR and LINES ( an Irish/Australian crime series) with Newgrange Films.  

Sinéad has a twenty-year career working for the H.S.E/Tusla Child & Family Services. A native of Limerick city, Sinéad currently lives in Co. Clare with her husband and three young children.
