Sarah Peverley is an award-winning cultural historian, broadcaster, and an internationally renowned expert on medieval history and mermaids. She is Professor of English at the University of Liverpool, where she teaches a wide range of literature and history, specialising in the Medieval and Renaissance periods, historical writing, and mythological creatures. In 2013, she was named a BBC New Generation Thinker. She regularly contributes to television documentaries and broadcasts on national and international radio. She has written numerous features for the press on the Wars of the Roses and Game of Thrones, and she gives public talks about medieval culture and mermaids at festivals and public events. She is currently working on her first book.
