Biography

Rosemary has had 23 titles published including 20 novels which have been translated into several languages and serialised by the BBC. She has had 2 children’s books published (also in translation) and more than 33 short stories syndicated worlwide. Her most recent novel, PARIS SUMMER, was first published in 2004, then realeased as an audio book in 2005. A WRITER’S COMMONPLACE BOOK was published by Michael O’Mara in October 2006. Other published titles include: THE FRATERNITY (printed under the name Robert Tibber, 1963), PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT (as Robert Tibber 1969), THE LONG HOT SUMMER (1980), PROOFS OF AFFECTION (1982), A SECOND WIFE (1986), AN ELIGIBLE MAN (1989), and ARTSIDE (2008).

Rosemary has written commissioned screen plays (both in the UK & USA) and television scripts including the pilot for SHRINKS (Euston Films, Thames Television) screened in 1991 and ‘BABY BLUES’ (BBC1 DOCTORS) screened in 2002. Her stage plays include HOME TRUTHS (starring Christopher Cazenove, Edward Hardwicke and Lynda Baron) which toured major UK venues for four-and-a-half months in 1997; CHANGE OF HEART which had its world premier at the New End Theatre, Hampstead in 2004; and AN ELIGIBLE MAN (starring Graham Seed from The Archers and Patricia Potter from Holby City) which premiered at the New End Theatre, Hampstead in May 2008.

Rosemary has written articles for the Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Author, Writers’ Bulletin and has reviewed fiction for The Times Literary Supplement, The Sunday Times and the Jewish Chronicle. She has also been the sole judge of the Authors Club First Novel Award (1989), a judge of the Bettty Trask fiction Award (1991), the Chair of judges for the Jewish Quartely Literary Prizes (1993) and for the Macmillan Silver Pen Award (1996 and 1997). She was a fellow of PEN (Executive Committee 1993 – 1998) and has memberships of BAFTA, the Writers’ Guild; the Royal Society of Literature and the Society of Authors (Executive Committee 1989 – 92).
