Biography

Robert is a critically acclaimed theatre, television and opera director and a specialist in digital capture and Screen Arts. Most recently co-wrote and directed all six episodes of HANG UPS (Slam Films) which aired summer 2018 on Channel 4 and has subsequently sold around the world and is available on All4/Hulu/iTunes.Nominated for Best International Comedy Drama at the C21 awards and Nominated for Comedy Award at the 2019 South Bank Arts Awards. 

He was recently announced as Creative Director of Fremantle’s scripted podcast label, Storyglass, where he will oversee their global commissioning strategy.

In 2009 Robert founded the multi-award-winning Digital Theatre and Digital Theatre Plus, respectively the world’s leading performing arts and arts education platforms. He has directed all 28 of their live captures of theatre, dance and opera productions, including most recently Northern Ballet’s CASANOVA (Sky Arts) and the SFP/Menier Chocolate Factory Production of FUNNY GIRL, starring Sheridan Smith (UK cinemas and Sky Arts)

He continues to work as Creative Director for Digital Theatre platforms and was recently announced by Creative Review as one of the UK’s top 50 Creative Leaders. He is a Chair of English Touring Theatre.
