Acting

Richard is a multi-award-winning writer-performer and actor. His incredible show, MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO, won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show subsequently had several sell-out runs at London’s Soho Theatre, toured the UK, had a run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, was nominated for the 2017 Barry Award and was broadcast on Comedy Central. He is currently developing a scripted television project based around it with Kudos Film and Television and Channel Four and has written a 30’ pilot. He is also developing a new live show, BABY REINDEER.

Over the summer of 2018, Richard filmed a lead regular role in the second series of CLIQUE, produced by Balloon for BBC3 in the UK and Pop TV in the US. The series will TX in February 2018. Also in the summer of 2018, Richard filmed a lead role opposite Danny Mays and Stephen Graham in the pilot, CODE 404, for Sky One.

In 2017, Richard also starred opposite Daniel Mays in the BAFTA-nominated BBC2 single drama AGAINST THE LAW – “surely a breakout role for him”, The Guardian. Other key acting credits include C4’s HUMANS Series 3, Sky Arts’ upcoming Urban Myth ONE NORMAL NIGHT and a lead role in E4’s TRIPPED.

Richard has other scripted projects in development with Hat Trick, Me & You Productions and Filmwave. Richard recently recorded his own pilot for BBC Radio 4 with Dabster Productions, THE RICHARD GADD SHOW, which aired in July 2018. Earlier in 2018, Richard featured in Jon Richardson’s series ULTIMATE WORRIER on Dave. In 2017, he appeared in Channel Four’s THE LAST LEG as one of their correspondents.
