Rian Lennon

Writer / Director / Actor

Biography

Rian Lennon is a Northern Irish actor, writer and director, who directed, co-wrote and starred in FUNBOYS, a comedy short produced by Simon Mayhew-Archer, which premiered at BBC’s annual comedy festival in Cardiff.

FUNBOYS was then adapted as a 4-part series for the BBC with Rian directing, co-starring and co-writing opposite Rian Lennon. It received rave reviews and the highly anticipated second series will air this year.

Rian’s work plays with a blend of the absurd and the natural. He enjoys exploring the tender sides of comedy, often juxtaposing them in surreal or horrific settings. A strong emphasis on delivering naturalistic performances, Rian’s directing work involves building characters through improv and collaboration with actors

Other credits include projects for BBC Comedy, Channel 4’s Random Acts, and BBC NI Radio. His debut feature was produced by Poli-Productions and funded through NI Screen’s New Talent Focus scheme. His follow up feature is in early stages of development.
