Peter Fellows

Peter Fellows is a multi-award-winning screenwriter, producer and director best known for his work on the popular HBO television programmes Veep and Avenue 5, the critically acclaimed feature films The Death of Stalin and The Personal History of David Copperfield, and for Everything You Didn’t Say – an award-winning short starring Olga Kurylenko. In 2017, Peter was a recipient of the BAFTA Rocliffe new writing award for his screenplay, Dry, and in 2021 he was listed as a Forbes 30 Under 30.

Whilst primarily working in adult comedy and drama, Peter has also found success in non-fiction, writing the historical shows Vikings: The Rise and Fall (2023) and Frontier (2024) – both of which were nominated for Emmys. Peter also wrote several episodes of the upcoming animated children’s sitcom Piripenguins for Eagle Eye, and wrote and directed on Dash and HBO Max’s Fantastic Friends. Peter recently wrapped on a new short film starring Nikki Amuka-Bird, Amar Chadha-Patel and Rebecca Root.

His Channel 4 sitcom pilot Disability Benefits, co-written with and starring comedian Rosie Jones, was released in May 2022 and picked up Best Newform Series at the C21 Drama Awards. The show went to series in late 2024, with Peter directing and executive producing.

Peter currently has various film and television projects in development. He regularly collaborates with other writers and comedians, has been a part of many writers’ rooms, and often works as a script editor – most recently on Guy Larsen’s critically acclaimed podcast Up in Smoke, starring Adam Buxton.
