We are delighted to share that our Director of Photography, Florian Hoffmeister BSC, has been selected for this year’s prestigious Marburger Kamerapreis. Established in 2001, the award is presented by Philipps-Universität Marburg at the Cineplex Marburg, recognising and celebrating the work and careers of cinematographers.
As part of the ceremony, Florian’s creative and artistic work behind the camera was highlighted and discussed, including projects such as TÁR (2022), for which he won the Golden Frog and received an Academy Award nomination, True Detective: Night Country (2024), which earned him an Emmy nomination, and Great Expectations (2011), for which he won a BAFTA, ASC and Emmy Award, to name just a few.
To quote the jury: “With the Marburg Camera Award, we honour Florian Hoffmeister’s clear and unobtrusive camera work, as well as his expressive visual design and his nuanced interplay of light, colour, and darkness. In every project, he places himself wholly in service of the story being told, while over the years nevertheless developing a distinct personal signature.”
