Biography

Mick Collins began writing drama after moving first from a legal background, through spells in print and radio journalism, where he covered a wide variety of major sporting events. He acted as story consultant for series 2 of ‘Silk’, and wrote an episode for series 3, before writing two series of the Silk spin off ‘The Clerks’ Room’ for BBC Radio 4.

He has also worked on ‘The Village’, before acting as story consultant and writing an episode of ‘The Last Post’. In addition, he has written episodes of the RTE legal drama ‘Striking Out’.

He has written a number of books and been nominated in the British Sports Book Awards. He has appeared on both TV and radio, from TalkSport to 5Live and the Today programme. He spent two years presenting sports programmes on BBC London.
