Matt is an experienced writer, producer and executive producer specialising in narrative comedy having developed sitcoms including BBC Two’s HEBBURN with stand up and writer, Jason Cook, starring Gina McKee and Jim Moir.

Matt set up and ran Channel X North where he won several commissions including HEBBURN and LUNCH MONKEYS for the BBC and three Comedy Labs for Channel 4, SLATERWOOD, HUNG OUT and SWIZZCALL all of which he either produced or EPd. He then became Comedy Central’s Head of Development where he EPd DRUNK HISTORY S3 and developed and produced Tom Rosenthal’s acclaimed online comedy series, ABSOLUTELY FINE.

He is currently producing a BBC Radio 4 comedy with Michael Spicer, writing a sitcom pilot for Tiger Aspect with stand up Ellie Taylor, EPing a sitcom in development with Channel 4, WOKE HEROES, based on the award winning short, SWIPED, and EPing a comedy drama feature with North of Watford Films, RUNNING NAKED. He is also developing a feature, BOTTLING IT, as writer/producer.

As a writer Matt has also been commissioned by Comedy Central and Channel 4, including a musical sitcom pilot for Channel 4, FOOD OF LOVE, which he wrote, directed and composed.

It was a love of writing and performing which prompted Matt’s move into scripted  comedy development and production. Prior to that he had worked as a journalist and factual producer/director making shows like BBC One’s Bailiffs which is still his most watched show and landed him on Points of View trying to look smart in an ill-fitting jacket. He continues to write and perform music which is sometimes funny. Matt’s website has everything you could ever want, if you want that kind of thing; matttiller.com
