Biography

Lucy Brown is a British actor and writer.
 
As an actor, Lucy has worked across film, television and theatre in both the UK and the US, including leading ITV’s Primeval and starring opposite Sean Bean in the feature-length television event Sharpe’s Challenge. Her screen credits also include the BAFTA-nominated series The Village, North & South, Malice Aforethought and NBC’s The Philanthropist.
Lucy has also lent her voice to a wide range of audiobooks, commercial campaigns and audio dramas, including Chris Riddell’s Goth Girl series and Lindsey Davis’s Flavia Albia Mysteries.
As a writer and producer, Lucy develops original television and feature film projects for both the UK and US markets. Her work explores contemporary relationships, community and identity through stories of transformation, where humour and heartbreak exist side by side.
Most recently, Lucy has been writing and executive producing an eight-part television adaptation of the Hook’s Daughter book series for AGC Studios, with Thor Freudenthal attached to direct and Michael Sheen attached to star as Hook. She has also co-created the original British drama Belonging with Archie Panjabi.
In 2022, Lucy made her directorial debut with the short film EVE and was part of the all-female directing team behind the feature film Everything I’ve Ever Wanted To Tell My Daughter, which received international recognition, including the Jury Prize at the Cannes Independent Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Awards, London Independent Film Awards and New York International Film Awards.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Lucy works internationally between London and Los Angeles, and holds a US Green Card.
