Biography
Lloyd is an award-winning writer and director working across film and television. His passion for storytelling is rooted in authenticity, drawing on lived experience and his background within the LGBTQI+ and neurodiverse communities. Lloyd also has a motor coordination learning condition, which he has embraced and incorporated into his distinctive creative approach.
In 2022, Lloyd was selected for the BBC New Directors Scheme. Since then, he has directed 18 episodes of EastEnders and went on to lead-direct two blocks of the BBC flagship 9pm show Waterloo Road. Most recently, Lloyd was chosen by Warner Bros. Access to mentor and support emerging directors on Waterloo Road gaining his first associate producer credit alongside directing, reflecting his growing reputation as both a filmmaker and creative leader.
Lloyd directed and wrote the debut feature film Departures, which was nominated for Best Comedy at the National Film Awards 2025 and was selected as a festival favourite at BFI Flare 2025. Departures, received a global theatrical release, was named a New York Times Critics’ Pick of the week, and currently holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
