LJ Ross is a multi-million copy internationally bestselling author, whose books have sold over 12 million copies worldwide.

Her debut, HOLY ISLAND, the first in the hugely popular DCI Ryan series, was released in 2015 and became an instant international bestseller. Six of the DCI Ryan books have featured in the top 20 most read titles on Kindle Unlimited and she is the most-read adult fiction author in the UK on that platform. It’s the second bestselling book series of all time on Amazon.co.uk, second to the Jack Reacher series and 3 spots above Harry Potter (The Bookseller).

The first novel in her Alexander Gregory Thrillers series, IMPOSTOR, was shortlisted in the British Book Awards 2020: Crime & Thriller Book of the Year. The audiobook of IMPOSTOR, narrated by Hugh Dancy, was also selected as a finalist for Best Fiction Audiobook of the Year Category at the New York Festivals Radio Awards. The seventh in the series, now narrated by Richard Armitage, will be released in 2027.

Her third series, the Summer Suspense series, began in 2021 with THE COVE and was followed up with THE CREEK in 2022, THE BAY in 2023, THE HAVEN in 2024 and THE LIZARD will follow in 2026. These are fast-paced mysteries, peppered with romance and humour, set amidst the spectacular Cornish landscape.

In May 2021, Louise was shortlisted for the prestigious Crime Writers’ Association ‘Dagger in the Library’ Award, which recognises an author’s entire body of work having been consistently enjoyed by library borrowers around the United Kingdom, and an author’s longstanding support of libraries.

In 2025, after a hotly contested five way auction, Louise agreed a deal with Cornerstone (PRH) and Sourcebooks who will publish the existing titles and new ones in some formats from 2026, including a highly anticipated new six-book DCI Ryan Met Years series to be published in 2027. Her first book published with Cornerstone, BERWICK, became an instant Sunday Times bestseller, going straight to number 2 on the charts and spending a further three weeks on the top 10 bestseller list.

Louise was born in Northumberland, England. She studied undergraduate and postgraduate Law at King’s College, University of London and then abroad in Paris and Florence. She spent much of her working life in London, where she was a lawyer for a number of years until taking the decision to change career and pursue her dream to write. Now, she writes full time and lives with her husband and children in Northumberland and Edinburgh. She enjoys reading all manner of books, painting, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
