Biography

Laurie first became known for her iconic long-running role of Jane Beale in Eastenders (BBC). She then went on to be nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for Best Actress for her role as Christine in Waterloo Road (BBC) in 2014.

More recently, she had a major roles in Shetland (ITV), Deadwater Fell (Channel 4) and Traces (BritBox). Also, a brilliant stage performer with fantastic vocal range, Laurie has starred in UK tours of Mum’s The Word and Looking Good Dead and West End musicals such as Les Miserables.

Laurie was most recently seen in the UK tour of smash-hit Calendar Girls, and is soon to be seen in the upcoming season of Shakespeare & Hathaway.

Currently, Laurie is on set for James McAvoy’s upcoming series in collaboration with Sky, Meantime.
