Jahannah James

Jahannah James is a comedy-writer and actor who collaborates with Sophie Craig – forming the duo James and Craig. In 2018, they were commissioned by BBC Studios to create eight original shorts for BBC 3’s Quickies including When Women Act Like Men, When Women Catcall Men & When you Pretend to Like Your Haircut. These sketches proved successful with over 30 million views across them. They were also commissioned by Kash Productions to create and write an original short film – Lord Doritos and the Deadly Duel – which went on to win both the Doritos Film Competition and received the International Davey Award. As sketch comedy content creators, they have both worked with dozens of brands, creating and writing originals for clients such as Paramount, Amazon Prime, NowTV and Disney as well as brands M&Ms, Heineken, Starbucks and Fanta.

As an actor, Jahannah most recently starred in Series 5 of Shakespeare and Hathaway (BBC); Emmerdale (ITV); Sister Boniface Mysteries (BBC) and on ITV’s 6-part drama series Maternal.  Feature credits include the critically acclaimed Body of Water (BBC), alongside Sian Brooke, Brotherhood directed by Noel Clarke and Talulah Riley’s directorial debut Scottish Mussel (Unstoppable Entertainment). Further TV credits include Deep Heat (ITV), starring as series lead Holly, Bitchcraft and London’s Burning (ITV).

She’s most recentlyt seen in Finnish six-part sports drama series Last to Brake, that aired on Yle Areena.
