Biography

Hatty Carman is a London‑based composer, lyricist and musician.

She co‑composed the 80s‑inspired score and lyrics for Starter For Ten, the musical adaptation of the cult novel and film, which enjoyed a record‑breaking run at Bristol Old Vic before transferring to Birmingham Rep. The production was nominated for “Best Musical Production” at the 2024 UK Theatre Awards and featured at Magic at the Musicals at the Royal Albert Hall in 2025. Hatty’s music has been performed at venues including the ICA, the Royal Albert Hall, the Southbank Centre, and the Union Chapel. She is a resident DJ on Netil Radio and a vocalist in the gothic dark‑wave band Border Widow.
