Biography
Gabby is an award-winning children’s writer, screenwriter, poet and occasional illustrator. She’s written over 30 books for children, including the bestselling ’If I had…’ series for Thames & Hudson, and the (also best-selling) ‘5 Minute Stories’ series for Magic Cat publishing, as well as hundreds of poems, stories and articles. Gabby is sub-editor and ‘poet-in-residence’ for children’s art and science magazine, OKIDO. She co-adapted the magazine for television, where it became the hit CBeebies animated preschool show: ‘Messy goes to OKIDO!’ Gabby’s books often rhyme, but not always. Her inspiration comes from nature and fairytales and her mission lies in converting the curious and extraordinary world around us all into entertaining, accessible, inclusive (and possibly rhyming but not always) stories for children of all ages.
