Emma Doherty

Emma is a writer and actor from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Her first pilot was longlisted for The Alfred Bradley Bursary Award via the BBC Writersroom and she was part of the 2024/25 cohort of Channel 4’s prestigious New Writer’s Scheme. Her BFI funded short film Nowt was filmed in May 2025 and will hit the festival circuit later this year.

She is developing several ideas for both Film and TV.

She currently works as a researcher on BBC’s Waterloo Road.
